How Caregura collects, uses, and protects your personal information

Bereavement Guide Ltd. ("we", "us", or "our") is responsible for your personal information when you use Caregura. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, including the Federal Trade Commission Act and, for California residents, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
We collect and handle the following categories of personal information: • Account data: your name and email address, used to create and manage your account. • Care recipient data: names, dates of birth, photos, medical details, allergies, medications, and other health and personal information that you enter for the people you care for. • Contact data: names, phone numbers, email addresses, and relationships of individuals you add to the contacts list. • Document data: files you upload, such as medical records, legal documents, and insurance papers. • Subscription login data: service names, usernames, password hints, and recovery information for online accounts. • Purchase history: records of your subscription transactions, including billing period and payment status, used to manage your subscription. • Preference data: your language and region settings, used to localise the application interface and communications to your preferred language and region. • Technical data: basic information such as IP addresses collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure to operate and secure the service.
We collect and use personal information where: • Consent: you have consented to the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information. • Necessary: collection is reasonably necessary to provide and operate Caregura and the subscription service you signed up for. • Required or authorized by law: where a federal or state law requires or authorizes the collection, use, or disclosure. Health and other sensitive information is collected with your consent. Caregura is not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA and does not provide HIPAA-protected services.
We use your personal information to: • Provide and maintain the Caregura platform and its features. • Process subscription payments and manage your billing. • Send calendar reminders and notification emails as configured by you. • Send you service-related and promotional emails, such as abandoned sign-up reminders and subscription renewal reminders. You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time via the link provided in each email or from your settings. • Allow you to share care information with carers you invite. • Respond to your enquiries and provide support. • Collect anonymous or aggregated usage analytics to understand how features are used and to improve the application. • Improve and develop the application. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Your information is shared only in the following circumstances: • With carers you invite: you control who has access, and only people you explicitly invite can view your care information. • With service providers: Stripe (payment processing for web subscriptions), RevenueCat (subscription management for the native mobile app), Apple (in-app purchase processing for the iOS app via the App Store), cloud storage providers (file hosting), email delivery services (notifications), and Google Fonts (font delivery, which may log your IP address). These providers handle information on our behalf and are bound by contractual obligations of confidentiality. • Where required or authorized by law: we may disclose information where legally compelled to do so by a court order, subpoena, or other lawful authority.
Your personal information is retained for as long as your Caregura account is active. You may delete individual records at any time from within the application, or permanently delete your entire account and all associated data from the Subscription page. When you cancel your subscription, your data is retained so that you can reactivate and continue using the service. You retain full editing access until the end of your current billing period, after which editing access is suspended until you reactivate. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently and irreversibly removed.
We take the security of your data seriously and implement appropriate technical and organizational measures, including: • Encryption of data in transit (using TLS) and at rest. • Role-based access controls that ensure only you and people you invite can access your data. • Secure authentication for user accounts. However, as stated in our Terms and Conditions, no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you accept the inherent risk of storing information online.
Some of our third-party service providers may process or store data outside the United States. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles your personal information in accordance with applicable US laws and this Privacy Policy.
Depending on your state of residence, you may have the following rights under applicable federal and state laws, including for California residents under the CCPA and CPRA: • The right to know what personal information we collect about you and how we use it. • The right to access and request a copy of your personal information. • The right to correct inaccurate personal information. • The right to request deletion of your personal information. • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information (we do not sell your personal information). • The right not to receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights. Caregura is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes within the application. Continued use of Caregura following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
